The NFDI4BioDiversity Consortium is an association of disciplines and interest groups including the civil sciences, citizen science, and state authorities in the field of environmental and nature protection for biodiversity, ecology and environmental data as well as infrastructure facilities. The common goal is to link knowledge from different areas to create access to decentralised data. The integration, use and dissemination of biodiversity data as well as the joint improvement of data and services as well as the processing of information for permanent backup and after-use are to be realized. The FAIR principles provide a basis for the integration of such data, which guarantee a quality of the data by finding the data (Findable), accessible (Accessible), interoperable (Interoperable) and reusable (Re-usable).
The Directorate-General for State Archives of Bavaria introduces its competence and expertise in long-term archiving in the role of a “participant” and works in the areas of responsibility, Task areas, national and international networking (2connect) and the sustainable provision of data, tools and services, certification (2consolidate).
