The EU-Project "Charters Network" (2008/2010) is an archival cooperation project between a total of six EU countries (Germany, Austria, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary), in which the Bavarian Main State Archive is involved from the German side. The project aims to digitize the documents of Hochstift and Domkapitel Freising and under www.monasterium.net on the Internet. The documents from the period from 906 to 1799 are in part already developed by hand-written and machine-written returns. However, a larger number is not yet processed in any form. Overall, the extensive stock comprises approximately 8000 individual pieces. The documents are mostly handed over in German. A special feature of this stock, whose relevance is also out of doubt for the extra-Bavarian history, is probably the magnificent royal and papacy certificates from the early and high Middle Ages. More than 80,000 documents will be published online as part of the overall project. Furthermore, an exchange of experts between the participating institutions is one of the objectives of the project.

The project results can be found in the fund portal monasterium.net to be seen.
