Completed projects

Cooperation project (2014-2018) with the State Archive Marburg, the International Centre for Archival Research (ICARUS) and other archives and research facilities from Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, Finland, Estonia and Sweden.

The EU-Project "Charters Network" (2008/2010) is an archival cooperation project between a total of six EU countries (Germany, Austria, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary), in which the Bavarian Main State Archive is involved from the German side.

Retroconversion of finding aids from the Bavarian Main State Archives and the Munich State Archives

DFG project in the context of the retroconversion of Findmittel, which is ongoing in German public archives. Within the framework of this project, a total of 80 hand and machine-written finders of the state archives mentioned are digitized with the aim of their online presentation on the homepage of the state archives of Bavaria and their proof on supra-regional portals.

A part of the joint project is the first-time gathering and online presentation of historical maps and plans for the common Czech-Bavarian history until 1918 from Bavarian and Czech archives.

Cooperation project of the Bayerischer Hauptstaatsarchiv together with the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek and the Institute for Austrian History Research (since 2006; currently ongoing).

DFG project (started in September 2008) to process and digitize the holdings of selected women's monasteries in southern Germany.

EU project (Objective 3 Free State of Bavaria-Czech Republic 2007-2013). Cooperation and lead partner is, in continuation of the completed project "Bayerisch-Tschechisches Netzwerk digital Archive Sources" the State Regional Archive Plzeň/Pilsen with the State District Archive Cheb/Eger.

Bavarian-Czech cooperation project to expand the Porta fontium source platform and develop a platform to promote cross-border local history.

Cooperation project (2010-2015) with the International Centre for Archival Research (ICARUS) and archival and university facilities from Germany, Italy, Austria, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic and Hungary.

Development of an electronic, Internet-based portal for larger collections of digitized documents from southern Germany (document portal).

DFG project in cooperation with numerous archival and university partners. The project pursues three objectives: 1. the prototypical development of workflows for digitization of documents, 2. the development of a working environment and 3. the connection of university pilot projects that test the usability of this working environment in research and teaching.

EU project (Objective 3 Bavaria-Czech Republic 2007-2013, INTERREG IV). Cooperation and lead partner is the Plzeň/Pilsen State Regional Archives with the subordinate district archives Cheb/Eger and Karlovy Vary/Karlsbad.
