17.09.2020: Computer tags digital on 17. September 2020
Digitization is omnipresent – especially in the cultural sector. At the EDV-Tags 2020, we want to deal with issues of digitalization of analogue cultural goods that affect museums and archives alike. Where are we? What strategies are we going to do? How to organize a digitalization project? What standards should be respected? How to protect the valuable objects from damage during digitization? And what does practice look like? EDV days will be shortened this year on 17. September from 9.30 am to 16.00 pm via “Livestreaming” from the Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte – Museum in Regensburg. Due to the ongoing risk situation caused by the coronavirus, the planned presentations on the topic “Digitalization of Cultural Goods” and a practical view are offered exclusively digitally. Questions to the speakers are possible via the hashtag #edvtagedigital on Twitter, by comment directly on YouTube or by email. If you wish to receive a reminder by e-mail before the event along with the direct link to live streaming, you can contact the website of the conference www.edvtage.de Register. Otherwise, the stream can also be tracked spontaneously directly via the website or various social media platforms. You can find the program below https://edvtage.de/en/programm and as a PDF flyer in the annex. We look forward to your participation! Posted on 10.08.2020   Related files Flyer for EDV Days 2020

28.11.2019: Archive in the Old Reich as instruments of domination
Publication of the Lectures on the 2nd Archive Science Special Discussion of the Bavarian State Archives on 28 November 2019 in Munich in AZ 98/2022. Archives were not always open sites of research. In the times of the old empire before 1800, and still in part beyond, they were rather considered as places that were subject to access restrictions. The documents, official books and files stored in them secured legal and domination titles and documented processes from the innermost circle of the rulers. In times when the social order was based on privileges and property titles, archives were therefore regarded as treasury chambers and rulers. The talks on "Archive in the Old Reich as instruments of rule" are published in the Archival magazine 98 (2022). Publication series Archival Journal >>>.
