The exhibition shows what development the Coburger Land took during its belonging to Bavaria. First stations are dedicated to the period of the Weimar Republic and National Socialism. One focus is on the period after World War II. Although the inner German border is clamped on three sides, Coburg developed positively after 1945. Agriculture and industry modernized, tourism and large construction projects changed the cityscape. Through the municipal territorial reform and the regular celebrations to merge with Bavaria, Coburg continued to grow into Bavaria. Finally, the German unit changed the political map fundamentally in 1989/90 and opened a number of new possibilities for Coburg. 17.07.2020: Archiving Agreement between the Bavarian National Museum and the Bavarian State Archives
On 17. July 2020 at 10 a.m., the Director-General of the State Archives, Dr. Margit Ksoll-Marcon and the Director-General of the Bavarian National MuseumMr. Dr. Frank Matthias Kammel, an archiving agreement. The agreement regulates the separation and transfer of archive-ready documents from the register of the Bavarian National Museum to the Bavarian State Archive. As part of a press event, two recently handed over to the main state archives of the National Museum from the period 1930 to 1950 were presented and explained. The journals are of central importance especially for provenance research – the research into the acquisitions of works of art. The written tradition of the Bavarian National Museum documents the long and eventful history of this institution as well as its collection and exhibition activities. King Maximilian II founded the National Museum in 1855. In 1867 the museum received a representative building in Maximilianstraße, which soon proved to be too small and inappropriate. The building still used today in the Prinzregentenstraße covered the National Museum in 1900. Through the agreement to be concluded, the historical tradition of the Bavarian National Museum is to be kept safely and reliably and made accessible to research. On Monday, 29. June 2020, became the small exhibition in the Bavarian Main State Archive “The most burning of all social questions” Local housing policy between 1918 and 1954 in Munich, Nuremberg, Erlangen open. The exhibition was opened in the course of training in the preparatory service 2018/2020 for the entry into the 4th Qualification level of the field of education and science, specialist focus on archives, at the Bavarian Archive School. Dr. Thomas Gilgert, Johannes Hasselbeck and Andreas Schenker are the editors of the exhibition. Lack of housing and rising rents in many cities lead to the housing issue of many today as a new social issue or even as the social issue of the 21st. It is seen in the century.
