The journal continues the communications for archive maintenance in Bavaria, which appeared from 1955 to 1989, under a new name and with a modified concept. “Archives in Bavaria” is intended

• as an organ of municipal archive maintenance carried out by the Bavarian State Archives,

• as documentation of the Bavarian Archive Days with publication of the lectures held,

• as a place of publication for essays on topics and developments in Bavarian archiving,
